John,Henry, and William Ledford

John, Henry and William Ledford came to America as indentured servants on the ship the Walpoole. James Patton was the captain of the ship. All three brothers served 7 years to captain Patton. John was 14 years old, William was 16, and Henry was 18 years old when they sailed to America They came from Lancaster England in search of a better life. The boys were farmers in England. James Patton was given land by the King of England and James passed some acreage down to the three brothers. They landed in Virginia and then John and William took their families and moved away from Indian up into North Carolina. They sailed to America in 1738.

Henry was 35 years old when he and James Patton were killed at the Battle of Drapers Meadow. They were scalped by Shawnee Indians. Check by blog often for updates on our ancestors.
